SABER Program

This program is a weekly workshop that provides experiential learning opportunities and educational field trips for Hispanic/Latinx students in the Louisville area. Every Saturday during the academic year we invite presenters to share their knowledge and experience with our 6th-12th grade Achievers group. We also conduct field trips to various enrichment activities within the community to enhance students’ understanding of their options in life after high school graduation.

S – Social-Personal Growth
A – Awareness
B – Belonging
E – Enrichment
R – Resilience

Registration for the Saturday program occurs each year prior to the start of the school year. Students who want to enroll in the program must be between 6th and 9th grade and commit to attend and participate regularly. Students and parents will be invited for an interview. Once enrolled, a student’s place in the program is reserved for them through high school graduation, as long as they comply with their attendance and participation commitments.

After School Virtual Tutoring

This program bridges students in need of academic support with mentors and guidance. We pair specialized tutors with students based on their subject requirements, covering areas like math, English, science, and various school projects. This support is an ongoing initiative, as the academic needs of students can vary with each new semester.

Adelante Clubs and Summer Program

This program offers a series of interest-specific, small-group learning communities for Adelante’s students to explore new skills and hobbies together. Students are provided a platform, led by professionals and experts from the community, where they can share their passions and interests alongside their Adelante peers. Our Achievers discover new information and grow from one another while establishing a tighter sense of community and connection in the Adelante Clubs.

Nuestras Voces, Youth Board

Empowers Achievers to have a say in Adelante’s programming and events. Achievers in this board participate in monthly meetings divided into three committees:

Programming Committee: This committee suggests topics, activities, field trips, and workshops for the Mentoring and Enrichment program. Students provide feedback on the current program and help formulate questions for surveys.

Event/Fundraising Committee: This committee plans and coordinates Adelante events, including Graduation, Family Engagement Events, End of Semester celebrations, Orientations, Fundraising events, and Education Expo. Students also volunteer to set up and break down these events.

Outreach Committee: This committee supports Adelante staff at community events where student representatives are needed and helps engage and retain volunteers for various programs and events.

The Youth Board is divided into committees that meet monthly.

Transformando futuros: Parent & Family Engagement Events

These monthly events are designed with the overarching goal of inspiring and empowering parents to actively engage in their children’s education and maximize the available educational opportunities.

Our aim is to enhance parents’ confidence in their involvement, nurture a sense of belonging, and facilitate increased communication between students and parents regarding post-graduation decisions. Together, we strive to build a stronger community that actively supports and encourages educational success.
